The importance of companionship

We all know that loneliness is bad for our health, that's why we are launching our new companionship service within our care service. You don't necessarily need to have care needs but maybe you are struggling to get out and about as much as you’d like and so our carers are on hand to keep you company. If you’re lonely at home and you just want someone to pop in, we’d love to provide a friendly face, or perhaps you’re just struggling with some of the day-to-day tasks of running your home.

“16% of people of all ages say they are lonely in the UK” Economist 2018

We can take you out for a coffee or lunch, or just be someone you can chat with.

Here are just some of the things that a live-in carer can help with:

  • Companionship and a chat
  • Arrange appointments
  • Escort to appointments
  • Help with travel arrangements
  • Help to get dressed and choose clothes
  • Help with entertaining friends and family
  • Read with you

  • Support with diet
  • Plan trips out

  • Go out for meals

  • Discuss current affairs or historical events
  • Remember the past and recall memories

  • Shopping
  • Cleaning
